Rehaunted Patch Notes: UPDATE 01 to UPDATE 06

Cauchemar has posted 6 numbered updates since Rehaunted launched on 2026-09-14. The latest, UPDATE 06 on 2026-09-17, added shortcuts for your detective tools that you can rebind in Controls. Earlier updates fixed the shader screen stuck at 0%, rebuilt radio dialogue, reworked hauntings and fixed a bathroom blocker that trapped players in the laundry room.     Equipment shortcuts & More Fixes

    • Direct shortcuts for your detective tools, so switching tools is faster. You can rebind them in the Controls menu.
    • Fixed several objects appearing in the player's hands at once while using the tools.
    • Reworked one story event so it is clearer what to do, and fixed a character sometimes staying on the map after she should have disappeared.
    • Removed repetitive random voice lines that hurt the atmosphere.
    • Fixed the Quick Access Wheel sometimes staying stuck on screen.
    • The game no longer jumps to the Main Menu after the final in-game message. You go back with a button when you are done reading.

    Quality of Life & Haunting Tutorial

    • Small additional optimization improvements.
    • Improved several events where the next objective could still be unclear.
    • The game now pauses during the first Haunting tutorial, so you can read the instructions without pressure.

    It also announced tool shortcuts on keys such as 1 to 4, and FOV options. Tool shortcuts arrived in UPDATE 06; FOV options are not mentioned in a later post yet.

    Major Improvements & Overhaul

    • Fixed the UV light not working correctly in the tutorial.
    • The flashlight is more responsive while moving, and no longer turns invisible after a flicker event. Flickering now stops at a more natural moment.
    • Door interactions are more responsive.
    • Dialogue choices give you more time to answer.
    • Adjusted the pacing and flow of haunting sequences so they feel less tiring or frustrating.
    • Several scripted events now guide your attention to important moments you could easily miss.
    • The crib sequence is clearer, and a clipping problem in it is fixed.
    • The tutorial was reworked to progress more logically.

    First Fixes & Improvements

    • If the shader screen is stuck at 0%, you can continue to the Main Menu. The shader screen only shows on the first launch.
    • Hauntings should no longer spawn enemies in small or enclosed rooms where you have no space to escape.
    • After you photograph the entity and blind it, you can run straight through it instead of getting stuck on it.
    • The Haunting tutorial stays on screen longer.

    WE ARE FINALLY READY!

    • The game passed Steam's build review with more than 50,000 wishlists.
    • Fully playable on Steam Deck: about 30 to 40 FPS on Medium and High settings, with FSR or Intel XeSS and Frame Generation turned on.
    • Added DLSS, FSR and Intel XeSS. The game runs on as little as 6 GB of VRAM.
    • Designed to last around 2 to 3 hours.

    It also mentions new phone-related events and hidden numbers you can call.
