Cookie Policy

Analytics choice in this browser

Reading browser choice… Google Analytics: not permitted.

These controls change optional analytics, not the cookie-free interaction counts or Cloudflare's hosting logs. Rejecting does not delete cookies already set by Google. Clear this site's data in browser settings to remove those cookies.

Which browser storage this site uses and how to clear it.

What this site stores in your browser

The site's own code sets no cookies. It uses your browser's local storage for four things, and only after you use them:

  • rh:achievements:v1: the achievements you ticked on the achievement case file
  • rh:uv:v1: saved only while "Reveal all" is switched on for the UV light, so plot achievements stay revealed on your next visit. Press Reveal all again and it is removed.
  • rehaunted-phone-helper-v1: the clue/response/version options you explicitly save in the phone helper; it does not read your game save
  • orbitmate:cookie-consent:v1: your choice in the analytics banner, saved when you pick Accept or Reject

That is all. This data stays on your device. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics and our own interaction counts run on every page without cookies or local storage. The Privacy Policy lists what they count.

Google Analytics 4 is off until you choose Accept in the analytics banner. After that, Google sets two cookies on this site:

  • _ga: tells one browser from another, kept for up to 2 years
  • _ga_<ID>: keeps track of the current visit, kept for up to 2 years

To change your choice, use the Analytics settings button at the bottom of the page. Choosing Reject stops Google Analytics and reloads the page; cookies it already set stay until they expire or you clear this site's data in your browser settings.

Advertising

Game and guide pages display one Adsterra Banner when opened, independently of optional analytics preferences. Adsterra and its partners may receive your IP address, browser information and referring site, and use cookies or similar identifiers for ad delivery and measurement. The site's analytics Accept/Reject controls do not disable advertising. See Adsterra’s privacy policy and cookie information. We do not send your saved game progress or contact drafts to the ad placement. An advertisement is not our endorsement.
